Ameco fuel / fuel pump test rig certified by airworthiness
On June 27, Ameco successfully completed the airworthiness expert assessment team accreditation for its newly developed fuel pump test rig. This state-of-the-art testing facility marks a significant milestone as it is the first integrated fuel and fuel pump test bench jointly developed by CAU, CATIC I Group, and Ameco. The project fills a critical gap in the CAAC (Civil Aviation Administration of China) certification framework and positions Ameco as the first domestic repair station equipped with such advanced testing capabilities.
To enhance its accessory repair capabilities and expand its expertise in repairing PW4000, CFM56, and V2500 engine fuel pumps, Ameco invested RMB 7.3 million in 2005 to implement the fuel pump test bench. This initiative involved renovating existing facilities and establishing a dedicated fuel project development team. Leveraging internal resources and collaboration with key manufacturers, Ameco overcame numerous technical challenges during the setup process. From February to June this year, the team made nearly 30 technical improvements, laying a solid foundation for the subsequent airworthiness certification.
Currently, Ameco has applied for overhaul capabilities for the PW4056 (B747) fuel pump and also for the PW4056 (B747) and CFM56-3/-7 (B737-300/-400/-500/-600/-700/-800) fuel pumps. In September of this year, Ameco officially became capable of repairing fuel pumps for the PW4000 engine, further strengthening its position in the aviation maintenance industry.
