Ameco fuel / fuel pump test rig certified by airworthiness
On June 27, Ameco successfully completed the airworthiness expert assessment team's certification for its newly developed fuel pump test rig. This state-of-the-art testing facility is the first integrated fuel and fuel pump test bench developed collaboratively by CAU, CATIC I Group, and Ameco. The achievement marks a significant milestone, filling a critical gap in the CAAC (Civil Aviation Administration of China) standards and positioning Ameco as the first domestic repair station equipped with such advanced testing capabilities.
To enhance its accessory repair capabilities, particularly for PW4000, CFM56, and V2500 engines and their associated fuel pumps, Ameco invested RMB 7.3 million in 2005 to establish the fuel pump test rig. This project involved the renovation of existing facilities and the creation of a dedicated fuel project development team. Leveraging internal expertise and working closely with partner manufacturers, the team overcame numerous technical challenges. During the equipment installation and commissioning phase from February to June this year, they implemented nearly 30 technical improvements, laying a solid foundation for the subsequent airworthiness certification.
Currently, Ameco has applied for the overhaul capability of the PW4056 (B747) fuel pump, as well as for the PW4056 (B747) and CFM56-3/-7 (B737-300/-400/-500/-600/-700/-800) models. In September of this year, Ameco officially became capable of repairing fuel pumps for the PW4000 engine, further expanding its service offerings and reinforcing its position as a leading maintenance and repair organization in the aviation industry.
