In line with the spirit of the "Notice on Sanchuangsanqing Activities" issued by the municipal party committee and government, Danyang Sewage Treatment Plant has played a vital role in driving economic and social development through its efforts in "sprint," "takeoff," and "guarantee." The plant has continuously adapted to new circumstances, embraced reform and innovation, and strengthened sewage treatment operations. This has contributed significantly to the improvement of both urban and social environments, achieving remarkable outcomes.
In 2007, the first phase of the sewage treatment project successfully passed the full completion acceptance by the Provincial Development and Reform Commission. The facility treated over 12.2 million tons of wastewater annually, achieving significant reductions: 168 tons of COD, 3,160 tons of BOD, 2,624 tons of SS, 346 tons of NH3-N, and 24 tons of TP. The quality of the treated wastewater met the discharge standards outlined in GB18918—2002, Class I B, offering strong environmental support for major transformations in the city’s economic and social development.
That same year, the plant aligned itself with the “Three Civilizations†assessment targets set by the Municipal Construction Bureau. It focused on ten key annual goals, uniting all staff in a spirit of innovation and progress. Through these efforts, the plant made meaningful contributions to the next stage of the city's economic and social development.
To build a strong team of cadres and workers, the plant emphasized ideological progress as the foundation for behavioral advancement. It aimed to cultivate a high-quality workforce capable of leading urban environmental construction.
