Supporting and kiln-phosphoric acid technology support plan

On January 19th, the 10,000-ton-per-year kiln phosphoric acid project of Xiangfan Yonghe Phosphoric Acid Science and Technology Co., Ltd. in Hubei Province was officially recognized as part of the "National Science and Technology Support Program." The company will receive a total of 2 million yuan in government funding over the next three years to support the development and implementation of this innovative technology. The kiln-process phosphoric acid production method represents a breakthrough in the industry. Unlike traditional methods that rely on sulfuric acid, this process uses low-grade phosphate rock, silica, and a carbon-based reducing agent to produce phosphoric acid directly in a rotary kiln. This not only reduces energy consumption but also eliminates the need for sulfur, making it a more environmentally friendly and cost-effective solution. This technology is expected to play a key role in the sustainable utilization of low-grade phosphate resources, which are abundant in China but have been underused due to technical and economic challenges. By adopting this new approach, enterprises can significantly lower their carbon footprint and improve energy efficiency, contributing to broader national goals of green development and resource conservation. According to official reports, the "National Science and Technology Support Program" is funded by a special central government fund aimed at promoting technological innovation in key industries. In this round of funding, three phosphoric acid-related projects in Hubei Province were selected, with a total of 10 million yuan allocated across all three. The inclusion of Xiangfan Yonghe’s project highlights the growing importance of eco-friendly and efficient chemical production technologies in China's industrial strategy.
