· Continental Group plans to build China Chongqing R&D Center

Continental Group continues to strengthen R&D resource construction and deployment, promotes the development of China's western market, and announces plans to build a new R&D center in Chongqing. Continental announced today that it plans to build a new R&D center in Chongqing at the 7th Global Automotive Forum. This R&D center is dedicated to the development of automotive electronics applications, new energy vehicles and industrial applications and solutions, with system requirements development, software development, electronic design, mechanical design and corresponding system and product testing capabilities. The R&D center will have a R&D staff of 400 by 2020, and it is expected that the number of employees will increase to 1,000 by 2025 and is expected to be put into use in early 2018.
Dr. Kang Ruifan, member of the Executive Board of Continental Group and President and CEO of China, said: “The western China automobile industry is in the process of rapid development, and more and more automakers are constantly building factories and R&D centers in the region. The Group's investment in the construction of the Chongqing R&D Center is in line with our strategy of “rooting the market, serving the market”, being close to our customers and meeting the fast-growing needs of the Chinese market. The new R&D center in Chongqing will help us build closer customer relationships.”
