·The United States launched a medium- and heavy-duty truck tire anti-dumping

On January 30th, Tire World Network received reliable news. The US Steel Workers Association (USW) will apply to the US Department of Commerce and the US International Trade Commission for anti-dumping and countervailing of medium and heavy truck tires from China. survey.

It is understood that the application is not only for Chinese brand tires, but also for world famous brands such as Cooper produced in China.

Truck and bus tires are the main tire products exported by China to the United States. Therefore, if the United States finally confirms the implementation of "double opposition", Chinese tires will be devastated in the US market.

In 2015, the United Steelworkers’ Federation successfully persuaded the US government to impose anti-dumping and countervailing duties on Chinese-made passenger cars and light truck tires.

Recently, the federation also joined hands with the US Titan International to launch anti-dumping and countervailing investigations on off-highway tires and agricultural tires produced in China, India and Sri Lanka. The US International Trade Commission has applied for the investigation and held a preliminary hearing in Washington on January 29.

For the industry, these actions by the American Steel Workers Union are not surprising. As the US market for Chinese-made truck and bus tires is growing, Chinese manufacturing is once again the target of its attacks.

According to relevant data provided by the United States, it imported 4.86 million truck and bus tires from China in 2011, accounting for 22.71% of the US original tire and replacement tire market. By 2014, the United States imported 8.38 million of these tires from China, accounting for 36.25% of the replacement tire market.

In contrast to this data, Canada exported 1.38 million tires to the United States in 2014 as the second largest exporter of tires to the United States.

Data show that in 2011, China's exports of truck and bus tires to the United States accounted for only 47.23% of the US market; by 2014, this figure increased to 55.1%.

According to analysis by relevant US departments, in the past 18-24 months, the price of truck and bus tires imported from China has dropped significantly, and the new radial tires have even fallen below the price of retreaded tires. Some reports say that the market price of imported tires is lower than the ex-factory price.
