Damen Group launches two new ballast water treatment systems

Recently, Damen Group introduced two new ballast water treatment systems, Damen LoFlo and Damen BalCon, to the market.

The new ballast water treatment system is a response to the International Maritime Organization's 2004 Ballast Water Management Convention, as it will soon be approved and the US Coast Guard's ballast water treatment rules are in force.

Damen pointed out that once the International Maritime Organization Convention has passed legislation, it is estimated that 60,000 ships around the world will require the installation of ballast water treatment systems. It is imperative to install quickly and reliably to avoid costly ship closures. To achieve this goal, Damen has developed a standardized ballast water treatment system using proven technology and a one-off approach.

It is reported that the processing capacity of the BalCon ballast water treatment system covers 100 to 750 cubic meters per hour. Since the BalCon ballast water treatment system occupies the smallest space, all equipment can be installed in a standard container. The system can be installed in a cargo hold and is therefore particularly suitable for container ships. The BalCon ballast water treatment system is also suitable for tankers, where the container will be installed as a deck boat.

The BioSea-powered LoFlo ballast water treatment system is designed for ships that require less ballast water treatment capacity. At present, the starting point of the processing capacity of the ballast water treatment system is 100 cubic meters per hour, resulting in unnecessary high energy consumption and a larger footprint. Since the LoFlo ballast water treatment system has a processing capacity of 30 cubic meters per hour and 60 cubic meters per hour, it can reduce footprint and energy consumption. The ballast water treatment system can be easily and efficiently installed in a compact space on the ship or can be modularly installed.

Our ZS series vibrating screen is mainly composed of a feed hopper, a vibrating chamber, a connecting shaft, and a motor. In the vibrating chamber, there are eccentric wheel, rubber soft parts, main shaft, bearing, and so on. Driven by the motor, the adjustable eccentric hammer can drive to the central line of the main shaft, and produce centrifugal force which makes materials form vortex in the sieve. According to different materials and sieves, the hammer's amplitude can be adjusted.

The round vibrating screen is compact in structure and small in size. It is energy-saving and has low noise. With a close-type structure, this sifter has no flying dust and it can be moved conveniently. In addition, this sifting machine is suitable for flow production. Hence, our Round Vibrating Screen is an ideal machine for the screening and continuous discharging of the materials that has different sized particles
