Demonstration project of ocean transport management Internet of Things demonstration workshop

The National Development and Reform Commission and the Ministry of Communications jointly convened a working meeting recently to conduct in-depth discussions on how to apply the Internet of Things technology to solve problems in the country’s ocean shipping management. The seminar believes that ocean shipping industry is an important pillar of national economy and social development. At present, there are common problems in China's ocean shipping industry such as difficulties in ship shore support and monitoring, lack of guarantees for cargo transportation, and high production costs for navigation and transportation. Therefore, by promoting the application of the Internet of Things, it is possible to strengthen the intelligent control and management of the entire process of ocean-going shipping by shipping companies, effectively regulate the capacity of ocean-going vessels, and explore the realization of meteorological, visual, and controllable ocean-going vessels.
