Fatal truck crash in Long Grove 6-10-14
This morning, a devastating collision occurred on Route 22 in Long Grove involving a tractor-trailer and a tractor-dump combination. According to reports from the Lake County News Sun, a tragic accident unfolded that claimed the life of one individual.
Around 8 a.m., a 2005 semi-truck traveling eastward on Route 22 near Krueger Road suddenly veered into the westbound lanes, colliding head-on with a dump truck. Despite the dump truck driver's efforts to avoid the impact, both vehicles ended up off the road, resting on the shoulder. Tragically, the driver of the semi was severely injured and trapped inside the wreckage for approximately half an hour. Emergency responders managed to extricate him and rushed him to Advocate Condell Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries. Meanwhile, the driver of the dump truck sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital for treatment.
