So, what exactly is this new certification about? The UKCA (UK Conformity Assessed) mark is the updated certification required for certain products being placed on the market in Great Britain. This includes many items that previously needed CE marking, such as pressure equipment. The UKCA marking officially came into effect on January 1, 2020, and starting from December 31, 2021, only products featuring the UKCA mark will be accepted in Great Britain. Our company has partnered with TÜV UK Ltd. (0879) to provide UKCA marking services. We’re fully compliant with their assessment procedures, allowing us to apply the UKCA mark to our products, and we’ve already received the necessary certification. Here’s what the UKCA logo looks like: In line with the Pressure Equipment Directive, all pressure equipment and assemblies exceeding specific pressure and/or volume thresholds must be safe, adhere to essential safety requirements regarding design, manufacturing, and testing, undergo the proper conformity assessment procedures, and bear the UKCA mark along with other relevant details. For pressure equipment and assemblies below the specified pressure/volume thresholds, safety remains a priority. These items must be designed and manufactured following sound engineering practices (SEP) and include the required markings—but they won’t need the UKCA mark.
