I just came across this accident a few minutes after it happened yesterday. It occurred on Randall Road right in front of Biaggi’s Restaurant. There isn’t much information available yet, but it seems like the driver was heading northbound when they somehow veered into the southbound lanes about two blocks before the crash. They hit a light pole first, then a tree, and finally crashed into the big restaurant sign. The driver was trapped inside the vehicle, and it took emergency responders around 20 minutes to get them out. A flight-for-life helicopter was requested, but unfortunately, it couldn’t come due to the bad weather conditions.
Algonquin Fire Department sent out Engine 142, Engine 141, Ambulance 142, Ambulance 141, and Shift Commander 130. Great work by all the crews involved!
I managed to snap some photos from the scene. The firefighters were doing their best to ensure everyone’s safety and get the situation under control as quickly as possible. It’s always impressive to see how they handle these kinds of emergencies.

Overall, it was a tense situation, but thanks to the quick response and professionalism of the emergency teams, things could have been much worse.
