Implementation of "Strong-hearted" management thermal efficiency in cracking furnaces

The cracking furnace is the heart of the ethylene plant. This year, Tianjin Petrochemical's olefins division has implemented “strengthen” management for cracking furnaces. Three steps have been taken to increase on-site management, technical innovation and personnel training to make the cracking furnace run smoothly and efficiently. Compared with the same period of last year, it increased by 0.04% to reach the highest level in history. It is expected that the company will increase the annual efficiency by 200,000 yuan.
In 2007, the olefins division obtained the second place in the heating furnace inspection of Sinopec Group with a thermal efficiency of 93.34%. In order to further enhance the comprehensive management level of the cracking furnace, the Ministry has issued a "Strong Heart" project. Increasing the intensity of site management is the "soul" of this project. They started from the basic management, revised and improved the "Management Rules for Heating Furnace Management", and further refined the contents of the cracking furnace process and equipment on-site maintenance, so that the management of cracking furnaces "has laws to follow." On this basis, the equipment management department, the special protection team, and the three parties of the ethylene workshop will jointly implement the comprehensive monitoring and management of the cracking furnace. The equipment management department holds a “cracking furnace status analysis meeting” every month to report on the operating status and problems of the cracking furnace in the current month. It combines the company’s and industry’s requirements to arrange technical measures to effectively guide the management of cracking furnaces; it is composed of professional technicians from various departments. The special protection team members conduct daily inspections, measure the process parameters of the cracking furnace, and make daily records. The team will summarize and record the operation and maintenance of the cracking furnace this week; the ethylene workshop will send special personnel to cracking furnaces. Furnace management, a thorough and detailed inspection of the operation status of the cracking furnace, found that problems were adjusted in time. The on-site management network “cross-by-side to the end” makes the operation of the cracking furnace under control and lays the foundation for the smooth operation of the furnace.
In order to further increase the thermal effect of the cracking furnace and maximize the efficiency and energy saving of the cracking furnace, the ministry continuously increased the intensity of cracking furnace technology innovation. They rationally used the device's residual heat to install air preheaters for cracking furnaces. They have now all been installed and the annual economic benefits have reached more than 5 million yuan. At the same time, twisted sheets were added to the 4# and 6# cracking furnaces to extend their operating cycle by nearly one time, and the energy consumption of the equipment was reduced by 1.7 kg of standard oil/ton. Recently, the Ministry has also improved the pyrotechnics of the pyrolysis furnace, and the thermal insulation effect of the pyrolysis furnace has been significantly improved through the installation of active insulation blocks, which will create considerable economic benefits for the company.
Strengthening cracker operator training is an important measure taken by the ministry to improve the overall management level of cracking furnaces. They adopted the "theory + operation" combination of training methods, inviting professional lecturers to explain the cracker unit to the operator's knowledge, and continuously improve the staff's theoretical level. At the same time, specially targeted and practical textbooks such as "heating operation of cracking furnaces" have been produced to improve the practical ability of employees. Not only that, the Department also introduced the TPM skill training method into the cracking furnace training work. Through the TPM training class’s physical teaching aids, the cracking furnace parts that are not easily seen in the daily operation are presented to everyone. The intuitive physical explanation has been greatly enhanced. The employee’s perceptual knowledge of the equipment has improved the operating skills of the employees and completely blocked the “staff gap” that affects the efficient and stable operation of the cracking furnace, providing a software guarantee for the stable operation of the cracking furnace.
