The graphene concept erupts again
The graphene surface is originally water repellent, but dipping it into water, the "capillaries" throughout the body allow water molecules to come in and out freely, a phenomenon that attracted the attention of Professor Wu Heng'an's research team at the China University of Science and Technology. They collaborated with the Nobel Laureate Professor Andre Heim of the University of Manchester in the United Kingdom to explore the mechanism through theoretical analysis and molecular modeling.
Wu Hengan, a professor of modern mechanics at the University of Science and Technology of China, and long-term cooperative research with the University of Manchester, UK, have found that the interaction of graphene oxide film in water with water will form capillary channels about 0.9 nanometers wide, allowing for smaller diameters. The ions or molecules pass quickly, and ions larger than 0.9 nm in diameter are completely blocked. That is, the graphene oxide film has the property of "rapid precision screening of ions".
Prof. Wu Heng'an's group used theoretical analysis and molecular simulation methods to study the mechanism of rapid ion filtration of graphene nanochannels. Their computer simulations show that the interaction between graphene and ions causes ions to accumulate in the nanochannels, which promotes the rapid diffusion of ions. This finding reasonably explained the experimental results, also known as "ion sponge effect."
Experts say that if mechanical dimensions are used to further compress and modify the channel size in the membrane, salt in seawater can be efficiently filtered. This means that when people survive an extreme situation, they can DIY out a simple filtration device and desalinate seawater into clear water within minutes.
At present, many domestic listed companies have also entered the graphene application field. According to the “Shanghai Securities News” reported on March 14, Chen Yunhua, Chairman of Yueda Investment’s Board of Directors, revealed that the company is currently planning the development of graphene products, which will be mainly used in textile and clothing, automotive batteries and mobile phones; in March 2013, Nandu Power Announced that the company formally applied for two patents for graphene and graphene batteries; in July 2012, the gorgeous family confirmed that the controlling shareholder Nanjiang Group was building the world's first mass production graphene production line; the China Super Power Cable was recently confirmed, 2012 7 The company has obtained a valid patent for "rubber insulated cables containing graphene"; Jinlu Group is a relatively authentic graphene concept stock of the two cities, and it cooperated with the Institute of Metal Research of the Chinese Academy of Sciences for the development of "large-scale preparation technology for graphene materials." "It has passed the appraisal of Sichuan Provincial Science and Technology Department.
