The role of the piston pin is to connect the piston and connecting rod and transmit the interaction between them. First of all, when assembling, there should be a certain degree of tightness between the piston pin and its seat hole. Usually, the piston is first placed in 70~90°C water or oil to heat, and then the surface of the pin is coated with engine oil and pushed with the force of the thumb. Then install two locking rings in the locking ring groove of the piston. Secondly, since the connecting rod is fitted with a small head and a piston pin, a bronze bushing is installed in the small head, and the hole and the slot in the small head and bushing can store oil. The large head consists of two semi-circular parts. The separated semi-circular parts are called connecting rod caps. The two parts are fastened with high-strength refined bolts. The assembly should be tightened according to the specified torque. There are oil holes and oil grooves on the connecting rod bearings. When installing, the oil holes should be aligned with the oil on the big end of the connecting rod so that the ejected oil can be thrown toward the cylinder wall.

At the same time, when selecting the piston pin, it is necessary to pay attention to the following points: As the piston pin is used to connect the piston and the connecting rod, the force that the piston bears is transmitted to the connecting rod or vice versa. The piston pin is subjected to a large cyclical impact load under high temperature conditions, and the lubrication condition is poor because the piston pin does not have a large swing angle within the pin hole and it is difficult to form a lubricating oil film. For this reason, the piston pin must have sufficient rigidity, strength, and wear resistance, and the mass should be as small as possible, and the pin and pin hole should have proper fit clearance and good surface quality. In general, the rigidity of the piston pin is particularly important. If the piston pin is bent and deformed, the piston pin seat may be damaged.
