When the piston is warmed up to about 80°C in the oil, the piston pin can be smoothly pushed into the seat hole by hand. The piston's self-locking hole of general diesel engine is finished and can be directly matched with the corresponding piston pin. However, the above test should be carried out during matching so as to ensure ease of use, especially when replacing the enlarged piston pin. It is also often necessary to ream the seat hole to meet the above requirements.

When the connecting rod bush wears to a certain degree, it should also be replaced. When replacing the bushings, small holes should be inspected. For example, if the roundness or cylindricity of the small head hole is excessive, or the hole wall wear exceeds the standard, it should be expanded to the repair size. Correspondingly, a connecting rod bush with an enlarged outer diameter is used. The sleeve and the small head hole are in interference fit. The sleeve and the piston pin are slidingly matched. The clearance (usually 0.25-0.45mm) of the fitting clearance is ensured by the processing accuracy of the sleeve, without reaming or cutting. The rotation of the piston pin in the bushing should be checked. It is required to be flexible and free from gaps. Otherwise, the bushings should be reamed or refitted with smaller bushings.

When the engine is overhauled, standard size piston pins are optional. If the size of the piston pin needs to be repaired, the piston pin seat hole and the connecting rod bush must be hinged in accordance with the increase in the diameter of the piston pin. During assembly, the basis and method for mastering the clearance gaps between the three are as follows: There must be a slight amount of interference or clearance at room temperature. For example, the fitting value of the aluminum alloy piston is controlled between -0.002 and 0.0075 mm; the power of the palm of the hand will be When the piston pin is pushed into the seat hole, it should feel a certain degree of tightness, and at least 1/2~1/3 of the seat hole can be pushed in; the piston is placed in the oil heated to about 80 degrees Centigrade, and the application hand can be smoothly removed.
