On the morning of November 30th, Continental Automotive (Jinan) Co., Ltd., a joint venture between Sinotruk Group and Continental Group , laid the foundation for the Lingang Economic Development Zone in Jinan. The project mainly produces automotive electronics supporting products. The first phase of the project will be completed and put into production in 2010. It plans to complete all investment in 2013 and the final investment will exceed 15 million euros. China National Heavy Duty Truck Group is a leader in heavy-duty trucks in China. In 2008, heavy-duty truck production and sales ranked first in the domestic heavy-duty truck industry; German Continental Group ranked 369 in the world's top 500 companies in 2008. It is the second largest supplier of spare parts for commercial vehicles worldwide. . In November 2008, CNHTC and Continental AG formally signed a strategic partnership agreement. At present, Continental AG is the exclusive supplier of auto parts products such as instrument clusters and central controllers for CNHTC. This time, the two parties will cooperate to establish Continental Automotive (Jinan) Co., Ltd., which will allow the German Continental Group to consolidate and expand its presence in the Chinese market. The CNHTC Group will be able to further advance its internationalization strategy. In the future, there will be 3 to 5 upstream companies of the German Continental Group to set up factories in Jinan.
