This is from Martin Nowak: Back in the day, Bedford Park had three ambulances, but they reduced that number to two. One of the old units, Ambulance 714, was a 2007 Ford E-450/Medtec. It was heavily affected during the 2011 flood when Bedford Park was responding into Summit, specifically under the viaduct near 63rd Street. Both Tower 709 and former A714 were damaged by the floodwaters. While 709 was repaired and put back into service, 714 was eventually disposed of. There are photos of it sitting behind Station 1, out of service. Today, that space is occupied by a small garage. The current A714 is a 2003 International/Medtec, which used to be unit 712 before the 2007 Ford came into play. Since the last time the pictures were posted on Chicagoareafire, there have been some updates. The ambulance now features a new LED light bar. Additionally, Tower 709 has also received newer LED lighting since those photos were added to the site.
