Storms keep fire departments busy

During a severe storm on April 17, 2013, around 5 p.m., lightning struck a transformer near the intersection of 77th Street and Roberts Road in Bridgeview. The image was taken by someone for me, capturing the moment the lightning hit the electrical equipment.

Buffalo Grove firefighters were called to 414 Manchester Court just before 3 p.m. due to a reported structure fire. It appears that a lightning strike caused an exterior fire that spread slightly into the second floor. Here are some photos from the scene.
